Overall Job Purpose
The Sr. Project Manager is a senior member of the PM team capable of leading complex projects, serving as a mentor to others on the team, and helping define processes that are central to the team.
Key Accountabilities & approximate time split (%)
• Supports the activities of project teams to ensure quality and timeliness of project completion.
• Responsible for mitigation of risks, issues and ensuring dependencies within the portfolio are tracked and managed.
• Ensure consistent engagement across teams and departments, with clear accountabilities assigned for control execution and remediation
• Organizes project teams by identifying areas of needed expertise and required skills.
• Enhance the BCUS operating environment & culture to ensure managing risk is a key part of everyone's daily activity
• Supports/manages multiple projects or single projects of great complexity, possibly cross-dept or cross-division and may be at various geographic locations.
• Develop and manage timelines for projects and ensure conflicts are resolved in a timely manner
• Help design and implement appropriate control solutions ensuring the control operating models will sustain beyond program implementation
• The role requires the ability to stretch existing thinking / control practices in order to meet increasing regulatory requirements, whilst also affecting organization and culture change across a large, complex and integrating technology organization.
• Provide confidence in the completeness and integrity of BCUS risk profile and reporting (KRIs), enabling the BCUS Leadership Team to make informed risk & control related decisions
Person Specification
• The individual in this position will need to leverage experience of Technology Risk and Control practices, ideally within complex financial service organizations.
• Stakeholder management skills are essential as the role requires daily interaction with a matrix of global key business/technology stakeholders and influencers.
• Written and verbal communications with senior stakeholders and project teams are required at varying levels of complexity and detail.
• The ability to facilitate complex change programs is required across multiple global organizations with competing priorities, to ensure consistency to BCUS control/risk agenda.
• Skills to mentor less experienced members of the team are required.
• The ability to work independently to manage projects is key to the success of this role.
• The ability to make position appropriate decisions on assigned projects is essential.
• Has ownership for project timelines, deliverables, budget, and metrics.
• Ability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders
