Job Description:
· Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with minimum of three (5) years of experience is required
· Strong competence with the various tools, procedures, programming languages used to accomplish the job.

· Requires experience with VHDL
· Must have an electrical engineering background with both digital and analog signal experience.

The Sr. Security Operations Engineer is a member of the Security Operations team and implements, supports and maintenance the security platform portfolio of products across all Gilead sites and locations. The Sr. Security Operations Engineer provides implementation and support for IT Security platform tools, such as anti-virus, application whitelisting, public key infrastructure (PKI) and external certificate management and provides oversight for maintenance and operations of these tools in a high regulatory and compliance environment.
Specific Responsibilities and Skills
This role will be accountable for, but not limited to the following key responsibilities:
IT Security Platform Tool Management and Operations
· Responsible for providing the ongoing maintenance and operations for security platform tools and maintaining these systems in a supportable, healthy state.
· Responsible for performing periodic reviews on systems per system documentation and that systems remain in a compliant state as needed.
· Responsible for providing support for security platform tools and providing documentation and guidance to tier 1 and tier 2 support teams.
IT Security Tool Projects
· Works with IT Security & Privacy on security related projects. Ensure that projects results in highly reliable and supportable tools.
· Contribute to high-level project test approaches, methodologies and technology strategy roadmaps in the area of Security platform tools.
· Works with Security Operations Manager and IT Director to develop and monitor progress on information systems against IT and Business strategy.
· Works on specific projects under direction from management and in conjunction with technology roadmap.
· Work cross-functionally as a key contributor to the overall success of a global dynamic IT function to effectively guide projects from concept to deployment.
IT Security Team Collaboration
· Serves in a key role of the extended IT Security team to assist in incident response, direction setting, project participation and oversight, and overall security operations
· Works closely with IT Security Architects and Engineers to define product solutions and implement new solutions & compute infrastructure.
Required Skills & Job Qualifications
· 8-10 years prior experience in an IT Security or IT Infrastructure team provide both implementation and operational support.
· Possesses experience in implementing established solutions to support the effective operations of an element(s) of the infrastructure.
· Developing technical expertise in one or more components of the infrastructure
Additional Position Requirements
· Experience with a variety of IT infrastructure and/or security tools such as Windows Servers, Windows client computers, Linux, anti-virus, application whitelisting, public key infrastructure, public certificates, firewalls, and web proxies.
· Knowledge and understanding of establishing/improving/maintaining operational procedures and processes for IT Infrastructure.
· Experience working with a managed service provider
Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field is preferred. 8+ Years with BS/BA, 5+ Years with MS/MA or MBA
