Role: Big Data Developer
Location: Glendale CA
Duration: 12 Months
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
· Gather and process raw data at scale using an evolving list of technologies, including Apache Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, Logstash and ElasticSearch
· Work closely with engineering and production teams to develop solutions and build reports with high value for production pipeline and automation
· Work closely with operations and software engineering teams to design and implement scalable high performance Big Data systems and integration components
· Develop best practices in data aggregation, cleansing and reporting
· Help support business decisions with data and partner with the business to implement new and innovative solutions and analytics that drive value
· Work closely with teams in building visual analytics solutions around data - from a distributed hybrid data platform
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience with Kafka, Spark, ElasticSearch
· Experience working with any modern reporting tool (Tableau, ZoomData, etc..)
· Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, preferably Scala
· Strong experience with the Big Data Platform (HDFS, MapReduce, HBase, Hive, Pig, Spark, Storm)
· Experience with Logstash is a plus
· Good Unix/Linux experience required
· Sound knowledge of SQL & NoSQL databases
· Experience with cluster and cloud computing technologies (Mesos, Yarn, AWS, OpenShift, Docker)
· Experience tuning the JVM
· Understanding of version control tools like Git
· Experience with machine learning is a plus
· B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience required
