Title: Sr. Software Engineer

Location: Malvern, PA

Duration: 12 Months+

Visa Accepted: EAD, GC or USC

Interview Type: F2F required after a Phone Screen

 

Note: Candidate must have experience with multithreading, C++ and some database experience.


Description:

The Sr. Software Engineer will spend his/her time engaging in the maintenance and development of HVS real-time pharmacy software and its related programs. He/she must gain a knowledge and understanding of all parts of the software design, workflow, functionality, and code. Works under minimal supervision while managing workload effectively, analyzing, developing, modifying programs and documenting. Must be able to develop quality software while following the Coding Standards used by the Software Development Team. Good communication skills are required.

The primary responsibilities for the Sr. Software Engineer role encompass all aspects of real-time software development, new enhancements and maintaining an existing product. 

·         Develop, maintain and enhance quality software.

·         Provide technical support for the application, helping diagnose & correct software malfunctions.

·         Use client's Coding Standards including good code documentation and naming conventions

·         Provide functionality specifications on software developed to be given to technical writers.

·         Provide on call support at least three to four weeks in a year.

·         Provide training/supervision of entry- and intermediate-level engineers.

·         Takes initiative for self-development.

·         Interacts effectively with both customers and colleagues.

·         5% travel to remote sites for training or installation of HVS products. 

·         Maintain fiscal responsibility for business related expenses associated with company-issued credit card.

 

Skills Required:

·         Four year degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

·         8 Years' experience in software development environment

·         4+ Years Visual C++, Microsoft MFC and Visual studio .Net 

·         3+ Years C# and ASP .Net 

·         Knowledge of MS Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 2003 and Windows 2008.

·         Comfortable with real-time, multi-threading process control applications.

·         Experience with Client Server architecture.

·         Prior experience to interact with customers.

·         Able to work independently.

·         Basic knowledge of networking. 

·         At least 4 years of experience in relational databases(IBM DB2 or SQL Server or Oracle)

·         Any experience in QA is a plus

 

Other requirements:

·         Considerable problem solving aptitude. 

·         ActiveX, WinSock, Win32 API, and/or STL, ODBC experience a plus

·         Internet knowledge. TCP/IP.

·         Computer hardware, networking and communication knowledge.
