Job Title: Tivoli Systems Engineer
Location: Austin, TX 78783
Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Description:
We are looking for an individual with proven technical, team, communication and problem solving skills to design, engineer, and administer a systems monitoring environment based on IBM Tivoli Enterprise Management and other third-party tools.
Responsibilities:
Manage the planning, development and implementation of our systems monitoring strategy based on Tivoli TEM.
Review the existing hybrid configuration of ISV and custom-developed monitoring tools, develop and execute an integration plan to flow threshold and exceptional incident management of our systems through the Tivoli Enterprise Portal.
Build scripts and write documentation in support of the deployment, troubleshooting and maintenance of monitoring tools.
Guide personnel in the deployment of monitoring agents, and creation of extensions to adapt Tivoli to monitor for application-initiated events, as well as operating system-level monitoring.
Provide training and support to operational personnel who monitor Tivoli Enterprise Portal.
Maintain documentation on the configuration and monitoring rules.
Handle and resolve technical issues related to the monitoring software.
Collaborate with other teams to define and execute strategies that automate services, improve product quality and enhance customer satisfaction.
Build and deliver operational availability reports based on Tivoli and operating system sources.
Consult with IT Management as to capabilities and potential to utilize the Tivoli product set and other monitoring tools in a demanding 24x7 support environment.
Experience and Skills Required:
2 years Tivoli Enterprise Management engineering and administration.
2 years Unix/Linux systems administration.
Experience with SNMP protocol, and integration of non-Tivoli network, server, and application monitoring tools.
Strong scripting skills.
Working knowledge of system stability key performance indicators and system capacity management.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, customer service and organizational skills.
Experience in a mission critical environment providing system and technical support focused on ensuring high service availability.
Team player.
Education:
Bachelors degree in a related technical field or equivalent work experience.
