As a Senior IT Database Analyst, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, support and maintenance of all functions of relational database systems. You will be responsible for the following: database access, methods and time, device allocations, validation checks, organization, security, documentation, and statistical methodology. In this role you will monitor overall standards and procedures and assist in integrating various systems. You will also consult with users, determine requirements and recommend database establishment and utilization.Primary Responsibilities:
Perform DMA activities with Oracle Enterprise Linux for mission-critical Oracle engineered systems – Oracle Exadata and ODA
Design storage strategies around backup and recovery for complex database environments, physical structures, and specialized database applications/systems
Uphold enterprise policy guidelines and recommend new/improved guidelines

Exadata Install, Patching and migration skills required

Strong knowledge of RMAN/Commvault required

Be able to set up OEM grid control and set up alerts

Monitor and tune Exadata storage server

Partner with project teams and interact with customers to find solutions for projects and operational issues for existing and proposed  Oracle engineered systems

Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to perform in all of the basic UNIX management skills of OS Administration, Web connectivity, physical structure and overall architecture. 

Ensure a stable and secure Exadata environment
Implement and monitor UNIX functionality to ensure stable environments
Anticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them
Serve as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues
Solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions
Perform complex conceptual analyses
Review work performed by others and provides recommendations for improvement

Strong working knowledge of security controls required for regulatory compliance.  This includes areas of encryption, centralized logging, inactive disablement, un-intrusive logging techniques, STIG change protocol and implementation, secure coding requirements, account management and access control standards

Work closely with Security Auditors to remediate regular penetration test findings

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants need to meet the qualifications listed in this posting.

Required Qualifications:

·         Minimum of 2 years of experience required administering Exadata platform.

• 5+ years of Oracle database administration experience with Oracle RDBMS, including performance tuning and monitoring, SQL, and PL/SQL 5+
• 5+ years LINUX experience with the knowledge and ability to perform in all of the basic UNIX management skills of the OS and the Storage Layer.
• 1+ years of experience with Oracle Optimizer, including optimizer parameters, parsing mechanism and how optimizer influences in controlling, stabilizing execution plans
• Willingness and ability to provide 24x7 production support as necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

• Health care industry experience
• Strong communications skills and collaborative work style
• ASM/RMAN experience 
• Accomplished in handling performance benchmarking and configuration, of in-memory database tuning and other middleware
