Senior Java Developer Job Description
We have an immediate opening at our client for a Java
Developer with advanced experience with AngularJS. OCI is a small state agency responsible for
regulating the insurance industry to ensure that it is responsibly and adequately meeting the insurance
needs of the citizens.
This position would work on a small team using Scrum methodology to implement various projects for
the agency. The core technologies being used include: AngularJS, Java, Spring (Spring projects include
MVC, WebFlow, Security, Batch, Web Services, Integration), JPA/Hibernate, Oracle, Tomcat, Confluence,
and JIRA.
Responsibilities
Participate as a lead developer on small development teams, sometimes wearing multiple hats and
with a team-oriented attitude.
Provide technical support to project team members.
Develop and test business applications using the following technologies: AngularJS, Java, Spring,
JPA/Hibernate, Oracle, Tomcat, Apache Tiles, Maven, Gradle, Subversion, Git, Artifactory, JSP,
Bootstrap, JQuery, Jenkins, Bamboo, Alfresco, JIRA, and Confluence.
Develop applications using continuous integration, continuous delivery, and test-driven
development practices.
Produce Javadoc and other technical documentation as required.
Follow and promote best practices and current application design and development standards.
Take initiative to research and learn new technologies
Work with business customers to perform business analysis including gathering requirements and
documenting use cases.
Work with other OCI staff to implement process improvements
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with team members, management, and
business customers
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and produce results
