JOB DESCRIPTION
The Node.js Developer will be responsible for supporting the backend APIs and data models using Strongloop's Loopback framework. They will work together with other members of the development team in the deployment of large-scale web initiatives and mobile applications. The Node.js Developer position requires solid API and development skills, confidence, teamwork and innovative to build the future of behavior change in the health and wellness industry.
You:
· Passionate about JavaScript (or CoffeeScript)
· Enjoy solving problems with elegant but simple solutions
· Have an opinion on Crockford's JS style and semicolons
· Understands inheritance in JavaScript
· Have an appreciation and understanding of OOP concepts
· Obsessive about quality, including code quality
· Love challenges, and hate the idea of being stuck in a cubicle
· Easily communicate ideas in a virtual environment
· Hate the rigid structure of an office environment
· Know when to process tasks in parallel versus synchronously
· Loves code that makes you promises and keeps them

Requirements:
· 5+ years of professional web development experience for an organization
· Superb and demonstrable advanced-level experience with NodeJS
· Experience writing native modules with NodeJS
· Advanced working knowledge of JavaScript
· Excellent object-oriented design skills
· Experience in designing clean REST APIs
· Experience with well-factored codebases and writing thorough test coverage.
· Understanding of security-related technologies and encryption algorithms such as TLS and RSA
· Comfort with Linux and basic Linux system administration techniques
· Familiarity with JavaScript build and test automation systems such as Gulp, Grunt, Mocha
· Ability to identify and apply common patterns and principles of software architecture
· Experience with Git
Optional (Preferred Skills):
· Experience with CoffeeScript
· Experience with AngularJS
· Experience with Strongloop's Loopback framework
· Experience with building your own Node.js packages
· Experience with writing unit tests (Mocha, Jasmine, qUnit, Funcunit)
· Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN)
