3. Backporting, patching, configuring, building and maintaining embedded Linux systems: years
4. Building open source packages for Linux distributions: years
5. GDB and JTAG: years
6. x86 and/or ARM processor architectures: years
7. Linux driver development: years
8. Linux networking: years
9. Open Embedded / Yocto: years
10. CVS and GIT: years
Role & Responsibilities:
An experienced Linux Kernel & Driver Engineer who will be responsible for software development and maintenance of embedded Linux kernels and associated infrastructure. It involves
software design, porting and patching, kernel architecture, kernel and user space drivers. Strong technical, communication, and problems solving skills are essential, as is in-depth
experience with embedded Linux environments and internals of the core Linux kernel code.
Qualifications:
The candidate shall have experience in the following areas:
1. 6+ years' experience in software development for embedded systems
2. 6+ years' experience with C language
3. 3+ years' experience with Linux kernel internals
4. Detailed knowledge of and experience developing software in the core Linux kernel, such as process management and scheduling, SMP, interrupt handling, kernel synchronization, timers, memory management, filesystems, cache, device drivers.
5. Backporting, patching, configuring, building and maintaining embedded Linux systems
6. Building open source packages for Linux distributions
7. Performing complex debugging from user through kernel space down to the hardware, leveraging tools such as GDB and JTAG
8. Writing design and requirements documents
9. BS/MSCS or equivalent experience
Desired Skills:
1. x86 and/or ARM processor architectures
2. Linux driver development
3. Linux networking
4. Open Embedded / Yocto
5. Source code control systems such as CVS and GIT
