Hadoop Admin with MapR & Cassandra DB

8-10 years' experience of Hadoop Admin With MapR technology and Cassandra database administration. Must have valid work permit and ready to travel
Responsible administration of Hadoop and Cassandra infrastructure including:
1. MapR technology is Mandatory
2. Cluster maintenance as well as creation and removal of nodes
3. HDFS support and maintenance
4. Backup and restores
5. Cluster Monitoring and Troubleshooting
6. Manage and review Hadoop log files
7. File system management and monitoring
8. Design, implement and maintain security
9. Data capacity and node forecasting and planning
Works closely with the infrastructure, network, database, application, and business intelligence teams to ensure data quality and availability Works closely with application teams at the time of critical issues
Job Requirements:
1. MapR technology is Mandatory
2. Experience with elements of the Hadoop ecosystem, including HBase, HDFS, Map Reduce, Zookeeper, and Pig
3. Knowledge of key data structures and algorithms (indexing, hash tables, joins, aggregations)
4. Shell scripting experience with Linux flavored O/S is added advantage
5. Ability to work in high-pressured, tight-deadline environment
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills ability to listen and clearly communicate ideas
7. Strong initiative: must be able to take high-level requirement, ask questions/get clarifications, and get the job done (no handholding)
8. Ability to multitask efficiently and progressively and work comfortably in an ever-changing data environment
9. Must work well in a team environment (have the ability to cultivate positive customer relationships) as well as independently
10. Must be able to work flexible hours as dictated by work streams night and weekend hours, overtime as needed by project
11. Experience working with IT Architecture teams and IT vendors Experience in IT Problem and defect Management, Change Management, Capacity Management
