Role: Network Architect, QoS Specialist

Engagement Description
The role of the Network architect, QoS is to consider both packet-level and application-level quality of service (QoS) requirements in design of networks that provide delay and loss guarantees.
The ideal design is a traffic model that enables efficient network techniques for providing application level delay guarantees and network techniques for managing application data losses.
"Primary responsibilities
· Design, plan, establish, and optimize networks utilizing quality of service classification, marking, traffic shaping, and other prioritization techniques
· Develop and document overall QoS requirements, design, and implementation
· Manage solutions that QoS services from inception to delivery
· Ability to react to infrastructure changes to maximize network availability
· Change configuration and policy to ensure Infrastructure team is meeting application SLAs
· Measure, gather, evaluate, and test metrics against QoS policies on a regular basis
· Ability to identify and remediate network devices that are non-compliant to QoS requirements
· Manage lifecycle of QoS policies as they relate to application traffic"
Specific Skills: Top 3 required skills
· Must be a senior level Network Engineer (min. 8 years)
· Must have strong knowledge of Cisco routing, switching and Aruba wireless LAN
· Must have expert level knowledge and experience with network Quality of Service as it relates to both the LAN and WAN"
Specific Degree/Certifications or industry specific experience requirements Job Requirements
· B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or other directly related field.
· CCIE R&S / Service Provider – preferred"
