Responsibilities:
- Build algorithms to improve search results, recommendations and ad targeting quality
- Predictive modeling of aggregate customer behavior
- Develop & recommend metrics to drive business decisions
- Create business solutions through a combination of science and software
- Consider hypothesis by concrete business effects
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Developers and business staff to develop products & services
- Participate in managing and maintaining the product on an on-going basis
Skills/Experience/Characteristics:
- M.S. in Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or other quantitative science (Ph.D. strongly preferred)
- Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures
- Strong software development ability in Java &/or C++
- Deep understanding of mathematics and its business application
- Experience with Linux Administration
- Experience working with very large datasets
- 5+ years data analytics experience for an eCommerce company
- Experience in machine learning (preferred)
- Scripting language experience (Python, Perl, Ruby etc.) (preferred)
- Experience with distributed systems (preferred)
- Experience in Cassandra, Hadoop/HBase, or MongoDB (preferred)
- Working knowledge of NoSQL storage technologies (preferred
