Position Description 

Five (5) Quality Assurance Analyst Sr. will assist the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB), and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Behavioral Health Division, Public Health Division and Medicaid Division to modify and enhance the Medicaid applications, as well as support additional database interfaces to additional systems and related services as required. The State of Michigan Department of Technology Management and Budget (DTMB) Customer Services for the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Medicaid/Behavioral Health and Public Health is launching two projects to upgrade Microsoft Internet Explorer to version 11 and Microsoft Office to version 2013 for the areas served in DHHS. These projects are critical due to the expiration of official support for these products. Contracted resources will be required to assist with the testing efforts. Resources'

 

Responsibilities:

• Works in conjunction with the project team to evaluate applications based on business/functional requirements and designs and develop test cases accordingly.

• Applies test methodology and product knowledge in the design of tests and testing strategies for the analysis and certification of products.

• Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality for large and complex projects.

• Communicates issues identified during quality assurance activities to development and provides recommended process improvements to management.    

Skills Required 

The candidates selected for an interview must take and pass an on-site examination during the interview to demonstrate knowledge of JEE software engineering techniques.

• The candidate must meet the basic qualifications of 7 or more years of generic IT experience as defined for a Quality Assurance Analyst. In addition, specific skills required for this position are listed below. Points will be determined from review of the experience section NOT from the "Summary" area of a resume or application.

• Minimum 5 years in Software Quality Assurance in client server and web applications.

• Minimum 5 years testing custom, JAVA/J2EE, Web applications developed with JAVA/J2EE, CSS, JavaScript, and Jbos, hibernate, myeclipse and SQL.

• Minimum 5 years in the documenting of test plans, test cases, test results.

• Minimum 3 years utilizing HP Load/Road Runner and HP QTP (Quick Test Professional) to create test scripts for automated testing.

• Experience analyzing requirements and developing test cases.

• Experience in a QA role through the complete Software Development Life cycle on a complex software development project.

• Advanced proficiency with all MS Office applications and Microsoft Visio.

• Strong written and communication skills.

• Experience interfacing with technology leadership as well as the business client.    

 

Skills Preferred 

Desired Skills: 1. Experience with Test Management tools Microsoft Team Foundation Server, HP Load/Road Runner, HP QTP (Quick Test Professional). 2. Ability to conduct training & information sessions, communicate at a level appropriate to the audience, make oral and written reports and presentations. A. Extensive expertise with J2EE software engineering techniques, especially JEE authorization/authentication and session management specifications:

B. JSP, JavaScript, CSS, Struts, Hibernate (without Annotations), Jbos, myeclipse; Oracle database backend B. Knowledge of SUITE processes & state standards

C. Knowledge & experience in web architecture.

D. Knowledge of state & federal regulations & requirements in regards to the public health statistics and information systems. 

 

 Required:

·         JAVA/J2EE, Web application development  5 Yrs

·         Documenting test plans, test cases, test results  5 Yrs

·         Utilizing HP Load/Road Runner and HP QTP  3 Yrs

·         Analyzing requirements and developing test cases  1 Yr

·         Advanced proficiency with all MS Office/MS Visio  1 Yr

·         Strong written/Communication Skills

·         Interfacing with technology leadership  1 Yr

·         Software Quality Assurance in client server  1 Yr

·         Quality Assurance Role  5 Yrs
