Title : QA Analyst
Location: Bristol, CT
Duration: 12 month contract
Description:
The QA consultant will create test cases and execute testing for validation of the software being developed. NCS is a monolithic system and is made up of numerous combined components that are used by ESPN for Domestic and International networks. The Program Scheduling Department does not have a modern visual interface that allows programming to be updated across networks and broadcast platforms, and does require a lot of data to be entered manually in grid form for each show being updated. We are proposing to create a future design of a scheduling calendar module that will allow for scheduling of ESPN content across ESPN Networks on different platforms, including existing and new digital networks including SEC Plus and Video on Demand. If we do not perform the proposed work, we are at risk of increasing working hours to perform laborious task as we add more programming platforms and programming content. It will take more time to do simple task via outdated data entry methods and not allow that staff to concentrate on more vital parts of their jobs.
Responsibilities
QA testing of ESD Scheduling project
Participate in design and implementation of QA test strategies and protocols used in QA processes; ensures the full application of all relevant QA protocols, processes and procedures
• Assigned to somewhat complex problems that can influence internal clients
• Documents, tracks and verifies defects and fixes in assigned applications
• Develop, documents and implements QA standards for assigned applications
• Participates in ensuring that assigned projects adhere to agreed-upon functional specification and applicable QA standards
• Regularly review and interprets QA results and findings with limited support from senior QA
• Manages the troubleshooting of or troubleshoots and resolves identified QA problems and issues
• Monitors the performance of applications under development; ensures full conformance of each assigned application to established specifications and performance, accuracy and integrity criteria
• Accountable for achieving good levels of personal operating efficiencies on assigned tasks and problems
Basic Qualifications
5 plus years experience Agile experience is a must have
• Uses "out-of-the-box" ingenuity in applying analytical techniques and organizational skills to identifying and evaluating alternatives and to developing recommended approaches to resolving quality assurance issues and problems
• Work on the interpretation of QA issues and problems for technical and non technical personnel
• Interprets specific aspects of QA findings and protocols for QA Management
