Job Description:
The Microsoft Team is responsible for new application development and providing support and maintenance to over +80 applications. The BIT/Microsoft Team adopts Agile methodology for application development because of the rapidly changing timelines/deadlines which are mandated by the legislation. The employee in this classification acts as the lead application developer responsible for aiding in the coordination, interfacing and understanding the business needs of DEP both at the project and development level. The employee will assist in a leadership and developer role on multiple, critical and complex projects which will include the Oil and Gas Electronic Reporting System (OGRE), Dams Accountability and Management System(DAMS), Remediation's and Lab Contracting System, Water Management System(WMS), Drought Emergency Management Application, Drought Emergency Management Application, DEP Grants Central.
Tasks to be accomplished:
- Understand the inner workings of the DEP's .Net Applications and batch processes.
- Review and mentor the Transactional database design and implementation.
- Provide maintenance and support to over +80 applications.
- Review selected documentation of the system to become familiar with the system requirements, functionality, and architecture.
- Profile and tune selected pieces of the system for better maintainability and performance as necessary.
- Provide mentoring and assistance as required for the transfer of knowledge to Commonwealth IT staff.
- Aid in production deployments of system components.
- Aid in troubleshooting system defects and performance issues.
- Provide weekly status updates to BIT project manager
