Title: Web / Cloud Software Test Engineer
Duration: 6+ months
Location: San Francisco, CA
Rate: $50/hr on C2C
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- 3 years project experience delivering web applications in an Agile delivery model
- 2-5 years of experience testing enterprise or web software
- Experience with using and/or developing test tool for web-based applications (SaaS experience preferred)
- Web applications with integration to Ecommerce consumer products
- Strong experience with automation test tools (Tellurium, Selenium, Silk Test, GTT, loadUI, etc.)
- Monitoring unit tests and driving the team to high levels of test coverage
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as a primary point of contact and source of accountability for validation and/or testing activities for projects. May have primary accountability for functional technical testing deliverables such as project testing cases documents.
- Coordinates, or as necessary, designs, writes and executes tests to prove systems functionality, verify business and user requirements are met and that systems will operate as expected in the production environment.
- Supports creation and maintenance of user stories of reusable test data sets and test scripts.
- Performs internal peer reviews of test cases from other business analysts and product owner prior to and following execution as required to ensure issues/errors with the test scripts are identified and resolved.
- Review requirements and provide input to help develop user stories and ensure traceability and that user needs are met.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- High proficiency in designing and creating detailed test procedures (automated and manual) that will cover all aspects of testing; specifically user experience and performance.
- Solid working knowledge of test management and test authoring/execution tools
- Expert knowledge/skills around test case creation and test execution; ability to create and execute test cases as part of broader testing strategy for large complex systems interfacing with other products.
- Possess thorough knowledge of software quality engineering activities, including project management, user requirements, user stories and functional specifications.
- Detailed knowledge, use and understanding of an Agile delivery model and to apply testing best practices
- Solid understanding of multi-tiered application architecture, software product development, Ecommerce and their related testing strategies
- Possess fine-tuned analytical skills and be very detail oriented.
- Excellent oral/written interpersonal skills; user focused; persuasive, yet patient; work well with team members.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
ADDITIONAL DESIRED COMPETENCIES
- Java and Javascript programming a huge plus
- Web Infrastructure Security testing (XSS, DOS, SQL Injection) desirable
- Java and J2EE development and testing experience desirable
