Sr. Java Developer

12 month contract
Littleton or Broomfield, CO

A candidate that has OO Agile software development experience and can contribute to a team focused on Java.
Responsible for development, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Java based components and interfaces.
Expected to: Add value to the team and the business, through personal ownership and partnerships with everyone else in the organization.
Clarify software asks by analyzing requirements and understanding complex activation system features and functionality.
Coordinate development schedules and activities, contribute to team meetings and troubleshoot software problems across multiple environments and operating platforms. Support users by developing appropriate documentation and assistance tools.
Research new technologies and software products, participate in educational opportunities, and share that information with the team.
May: Design and develop user interfaces to web applications.
Assist with application and database design, server scripting and application integration.

Required Skills:

Solid written and verbal communication skills.
3+ years' experience with Java / Java EE, in a professional Agile (Scrum, Kanban) team development environment.
5+ Years' experience with Object-Oriented Design & Development, preferably in multiple languages.
Understands and practices common development principles such as those defined by SOLID, GRASP, etc.
Understands Design patterns - can recognize and implement standard patterns in existing software and new design. Experience with Tomcat, the Spring Framework, JPA/Hibernate, IntelliJ or Eclipse, JMS or QPID. Familiar with automated testing (e.g., Junit, Mockito) and coverage tools (e.g., Cobertura, Jacoco)

Skills that would be nice to have:

Experience with OO in languages other than Java (e.g. Smalltalk, Groovy, C++, Ruby, etc).
Experience with Camel (or ESB), JBoss or Wildfly8, Jenkin, SQL Comfort within a Unix environment. General knowledge of Telecommunications industry.
