Job Description:
- The Application Developer will be responsible for the implementation and support of new and existing applications for Capital One.
- This will involve working in a team to develop software and unit tests, following an agile methodology.
Primary responsibilities:
- Design, construction, integration and support of reliable and reusable software solutions, addressing business opportunities.
- Analysis, coding and implementation of application programs and data interfaces consistent with industry best practices application attributes (including scalability, availability, maintainability, and flexibility).
- integrating existing software and developing new software solutions;
- ensuring product quality through unit testing, system testing and continuous integration
- Should be able to coordinate with others work while involved with multiple work streams.
- Provide input to assist in team and project process improvement.
- investigating new technologies and continually updating technical knowledge and skills
- Should have experience working in agile based teams with fast paced development.
Experience, Qualifications and Technical Skills and Abilities
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years prior application development experience
- 5+ years of experience with Java/J2EE application design and development
- Experience with Spring Framework (MVC, Web flow, JDBC)
- Experience with JavaScript Framework (jQuery, AngularJS)
- Experience with REST, SOAP services
- Experience with SQL/RDBMS, Oracle/PL-SQL preferred
- Experience with Tomcat, Web Logic
- Experience with open source platforms a plus
- Experience writing unit tests and using unit test mocking frameworks
- Experience with Eclipse or other IDE
- Experience working on an agile team or with Scrum a plus
- Solid interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal form.
