ETL Technical Analyst
Overland Park, KS

Mandatory Technical /Functional Skills
Oracle PL/SQL: extensive experience with SQL programming (SQL Server preferred)
• Data Modeling using industry standard toolsets such as Erwin, Powerdesigner etc
• Assess, implement and maintain the database designs and data models to meet integration and reporting needs for the long term.
• Responsible for the conceptual, logical and physical data models and database objects (tables, indexes, partitioning etc.)
• Tune database queries
• Document pseudo logic attribute specifications through the layers of the data integration solution
• Experience or technical knowledge of Markit EDM would be beneficial
Role:
• Working closely with the Finance IT architecture and Finance IT implementation teams
• Technical Analyst will be responsible for reviewing business requirements and process maps and translate these outputs into technical specifications in order for IT development team to implement the necessary solutions.
• Documenting attribute to attribute specifications (pseudo logic) and support ETL implementation with peer reviews.
• Actively participate with business users and architects,
• Provide direction to ETL developers (in some cases develop if skills set is aligned) by documenting the detail ETL specifications
• Constantly review the data standards within the systems through profiling and data analysis.
Desirable Technical /Functional Skills
Good understanding and ability to demonstrate the data modeling techniques across operational, integration and reporting platforms (ODS, DWH'ing, Data Mart designs)
• Proven experience implanting conceptual, logical and physical database design: including performance tuning techniques on DB design level and data standards
• A good knowledge of Data security management
• A good knowledge of how Databases can be used to acquire and manage resources
• A good knowledge of ETL design and development techniques
• Sound knowledge of data profiling and providing clear understanding to users of the complexity of the data within the landscape form their findings.
• Have sound communication skills with management, development teams, vendors and systems administrators
• Provide a strategic direction for managing company wide data in an operationally efficient manner
• Experience of insurance, finance, and/or actuarial is essential. At least one needs to be a fit.
• Proactive Mind - ability to take tasks to the next level and consider the big picture
• Ability to abstract general principles from specifics
• Desire to simplify and implement standards of best practice for architecture and design
• Team player and able to work with technical members in the best direction based on past experience
• Drive and determination to progress to the next level and ultimately being a champion of the data architecture implementation
