Job Summary:
Work directly with the Quality Assurance Manager, as well as IT Leadership and business stakeholders throughout the firm to define, execute, and lead Quality Assurance and Testing initiatives. Ensure that Quality Assurance and Best Practices are adhered to and supported throughout the Software Development Lifecycle. Assist in building an effective and repeatable Quality Assurance practice which may include, but not limited to, the following; Traceability, Change Control, Root Cause Analysis, Test Plans, scenarios and scripts. Attend project level meetings to assess testing efforts involving business needs, integration with vendors as well as general data and environmental needs to ensure and maintain a less than 10% issues discovery in Production. Must be well-organized, have strong ability to effectively multi-task, problem-solve, and communicate.
Areas of testing experience in Investment processing, Portfolio level management, data warehousing / EDM (Enterprise Data Management) and SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) initiatives is a strong plus. Familiarity with financial applications such as Bloomberg, Charles River, Eagle STAR/PACE is also a strong plus.
Job Responsibilities:
· Be the testing resource on multiple initiatives; functional and technical
· Facilitate the definition of scope of testing, goals, roles & responsibilities throughout the various phases of testing and lastly agreement on deliverables
· Create and maintain test strategy/plans, scenarios and scripts and provide testing status related to issue/risk lists etc.
· Knowledge and experience with testing tools to support various phases of testing within an SDLC
· Knowledge of common Quality Assurance practices
· Experience using defect tracking tools
· Advise and assist QA Manager on status, risks and their resolutions as they relate to testing and quality assurance
Job Requirements & Experience:
· Strong business acumen and analytical/numerical aptitude, technical and financial industry knowledge
· Experience with data warehousing / EDM (Enterprise Data Management) and SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) initiatives a strong plus
· Familiarity with financial applications such as Bloomberg, Charles River, Eagle STAR/PACE is a strong plus
· Experience with software development QA resulting in successful product deliveries
· Perform functional, integration, and system level testing to simulate customer use of the delivered solution. This includes test setup, execution, and problem reporting and documentation
· Handle several concurrent tasks and meeting scheduled milestones for each. Manage day-to-day tasks productively, without management direction
· Where possible, create automated test scripts for verification of new features developed within the system
· Effectively communicate issues cross-functionally (e.g. with senior management, project management, or development)
· Intermediate knowledge of SQL and database testing skills
· Expert user of Microsoft Project, Visio, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and SharePoint
· Experience with Rally, VersionOne, MS TFS, ServiceNow, SharePoint, Jira, Bugzilla, Zephyr are nice to have
Other Duties:
· Traceability for corporate and regulatory audits
· Other duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
· BS/BA degree in Computer Science or similar discipline or equivalent experience.
· Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in investment process a plus
· Three (3) to five (5) years in Software Development Environment preferred, Agile knowledge a plus
· A minimum of two (2) to three (3) years' demonstrated knowledge with Quality Center/Rally/Jira or like testing and issues repository tools
· Proven experience and understanding of all phases of the development lifecycle including initiate, requirements, design, build, test and deploy preferred
