Jr. Business Analyst W/ Healthcare

Lansing, MI

Job Description

 

·         Under general direction, the Business Analyst will interface with CLIENT customers and internal product management team in developing requirements for major projects; prepares system design specifications; conducts research to resolve customer initiated issues; and coordinates and manages project teams in the development, implementation and customization of CLIENT Product Suite. Will be required to travel to CLIENT customer sites, as required.

 

Responsibilities:

 

·         Works closely with customer to develop requirements for major projects.

·         Prepares general system design specifications.

·         Creates, reviews, analyzes and estimates project requests.

·         Performs research and analysis of customer initiated inquiries and requests, leveraging extensive programming experience and utilizing technical tools or working with engineering teams as necessary to debug/analyze problems.

·         Fields direct questions from CLIENT Operations Staff regarding business, technical and operations rules.

·         Develops technical solutions to complex business and system problems.

·         Leads development teams through project implementation.

·         Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers handling all aspects of client relations concerning technical projects, including notifying the client of implementation schedules and coordination and assistance in presentation of results.

·         Provides leadership by mentoring others and sharing business and system knowledge.

·         Creates and manages CLIENT Product System and Training documentation.

·         Assists with and/or manages end-user training as required.

·         Reviews and validates test results per requirements.

·         Understands other CLIENT Product changes in process that may impact the customer, and notifies the customer of such changes well ahead of their implementation.

·         Understands the connections between multiple CLIENT customer initiatives and their cross-impact.

·         Supports Integrated Test Facility (QA), as needed. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

·         Knowledge of policy for Medicaid and other Michigan health programs; Ability to interpret

·         policy and translate into system requirements

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and attention to detail

·         Ability to manage multiple projects at a given time and adapt to changing priorities and manage workload accordingly

·         Working knowledge with Data Analytics and Care Management systems, BI and Reporting platforms, Microsoft ACCESS and Excel

·         Knowledge of Health Claims Processing

·         Ability to abide by client's policies

·         Ability to maintain attendance to support required quality and quantity of work

·         Maintain confidentiality and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

·         Ability to establish and maintain positive, effective work relationships with clients, coworkers, customers and development staff

 

Qualifications:

 

·         3-5 years of relevant experience

·         B.S. Degree in Healthcare, Mathematics, Computer Science, related field, or relevant experience
