Job Title: Agile/Scrum Master Business Analyst

Location: Austin, TX

Duration: 12 Months

Client: Department of Information Resources

  

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:

 

The Department of Information Resources (DIR) requires the services of one Business Analyst, hereafter referred to as Worker(s) for the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). 

 

·         Writing concise and effective User Stories, NOT Use Cases

·         Define precise and accurate User Story acceptance criteria that will be used by developers, automation test frameworks and by product owners to insure that product owner intent is effectively captured

·         Gather requirements for IT development projects by conducting interviews, work flow analysis, process analysis, and observation sessions

·         Evaluate information from multiple sources and help distinguish user requests from user needs

·         Interface with all levels of internal clients and analyzing current business and software development processes

·         Facilitate and clarify customer business needs and translating them into application and operational requirements

·         Foster Agile principles and methods for requirement gathering

·         Facilitate Agile rapid and meaningful releases

Minimum Requirements:

Agile/Scrum expertise

8

Demonstrate ability to successfully perform the various aspects of the Analyst role across multiple, complex system implementation with custom and 3rd party applications.

8

Experience with structured development methodology with preferred Agile/Scrum methodology in a product owner role.

8

Advanced analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with proactive customer service skills.

8

Experience with basic project management skills with advanced communication skills with ability to translate complex concepts between business customers and technical project team.

8

Experience performing end-user interviews, leading requirements gathering sessions, and User Acceptance Testing

8

Must have exceptional soft skills, including the ability to speak to both technical and business concerns

8

Experience multi-tasking, managing priorities and mentoring/directing others.

8

Experience with relational databases and queries.

8

Combined technical and functional business experience

8

Recent BA work with software/web development experience in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Strong

Teamwork skills

Bachelor's Degree in Business or Computer Science. Master's degree is a plus

 

 

 

 TERM OF SERVICE:

 

Services expect to start as soon as possible and are expected to be completed by August 31, 2015.  Total estimated Worker hours shall not exceed 2000 hours.  This service may be amended, renewed, and/or extended providing both parties agree to do so in writing.
