Job Description:Qualified candidates should have experience with MySQL as well as a strong DBA background in production database administration including proficiency in installation, upgrade and configuration of Cluster and non-cluster databases.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for taking customer calls, presenting MySQL Weekly Status Report, involved with various meeting with client related to Database Planning / maintenance / up-gradation / re-org.
- Responsible for ensuring high availability and optimal performance of the MySQL databases that support the system.
- Monitor and maintain the database backups, diagnose and resolve database backup failures.
- Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving of MySQL Database.
- Enforce security standards and controls to ensure the integrity and security of the data resources.
- Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and database upgrades.
- Responsible for implementation and release of database changes according to Change management system.
- Responsible for implementing/monitoring high availability Cluster DB, Replication and Log Shipping/Data guard.
Skills:
- Experience of managing multiple Prod/Dev/QA RDBMS on large systems
- Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on Database projects that includes MySQL database up gradation.
- Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service.
- Experience of Creating the database, tablespaces, users, data objects, and granting access privileges. Managing Physical and Logical Database Structure.
- Practical experience in monitoring CPU Utilization, Index rebuilding, Gather Statistics, Optimizers, Hints etc.
- Hands on experience and good knowledge in performing export, import to reorganize the Database Backup & Recovery through third party or cron job..
- Good verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
- Adjust quickly to changing conditions and above all have good judgment and be able to "get the job done" by being creative and energetic.

- MySQL 5.4, 5.5, 5.6
- AIX, Linux, Solaris, Windows
- Change Control System
