Position: Middleware Administrator
Location: Keller, TX
Duration: 12+ months contract
This individual will provide expertise in implementing and supporting various middleware integration technologies.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Install, configure and maintain software components classified as middleware on multiple operating system platforms and possibly multiple network protocols.
· Configure production, development and testing environments and ensure availability of these application services.
· Use high-level expertise with products to advise on design and assist with development of applications using these tools.
· Provide performance tuning of components and services as well as availability in disaster recovery.
· Resolve configuration-related problems.
· Assist production support and development staff in debugging middleware application defects.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
· 4 years of experience working in a distributed multi-platform environment.
· 3 years of experience a Unix environment and supporting middleware software(Application Servers, Messaging, Transaction Monitors, CORBA)
· 2 years of experience supporting message-oriented middleware (WebSphere MQ, Tibco), WebSphere or similar J2EE Application server (BEA Weblogic) in Unix environment
· Minimum 2 years of experience supporting file transfer technologies such as SFTP, FTP, Connect:Direct in a UNIX environment
· Knowledgeable in transactional systems (XA/2PC), CORBA/RPC services and Java technologies.
Solid Understanding of:
-Systems administration and change management practices
-J2EE application servers.
-Message-oriented middleware.
-Internet/Web based technologies.
-File transfer technologies including FTP, HTTP, SFTP and Connect:Direct
Other:
· Good problem solving skills.
· Ability to work independently.
· Flexibility to be on call from 5 PM to 7 AM and weekends for 3 months per year.
· Good written and oral communication skills.
· Certified IBM WebSphere Administrator in Java Application Server administration or MQ Specialist certification preferredRegards,
