Position: WEB TESTER
Location: NYC, NY (Locals)
Duration: 6+ Months
IN PERSON INTERVIEW REQUIRED
Assignment:
- Executing exploratory testing on the new system utilizing various exploratory testing techniques to successfully test the application against business requirements.
- As part of a larger team, the tester will work closely with other team members that include: other testers, business users, developers, and business analysts as required.
- Capturing and documenting defects into Rational Quality Manager.
- Must be detail oriented, where he or she will be responsible for documenting manual test scripts for subsequent test cycles.
- Communicate openly with the team to discuss testing ideas with other team members.
Experience/Skills:
- Testing Internet, intranet, and client-server applications.
- Developing test plans and interpreting system requirements documents in order to perform effective end-user testing and determining adherence to scope.
- Ability to learn overall system processes and identify process-related issues. Should have experience with interpreting process flows and use cases.
- Writing detailed manual test scripts.
- Visio, Word, Excel and Power Point
- Familiar with exploratory testing concepts and testing methodologies.
- ISTQB - Foundation Level (CTFL) or above certification.
Additional Skills (Skills that are a plus, but not required)
- Knowledge of Rational Quality Manager or other test management tools such as HP Quality Center Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) is preferred.
- Good communication and analytical skills
- Knowledge of identifying testing techniques for data driven applications
