JOB DESCRIPTION:
Project:
- Meet with Customers, look over their physical HPUX system, rip it apart, and figure out how you are going to move it to either a virtual HPUX container environment or HPVM.
** Can work remotely, but must come to client site for 2 weeks. Will be given a Physical Host or Cluster.
Must Haves:
- Experience building Container Environments.
- Experience moving a physical HPUX to virtual HPUX.
- Experience with HPUX 11.31.
- Must be a true engineer not an administrator or architect.
- Must use HPUX more than 50% of their day.
- Must be confident and good with customers.
- Experience doing HPUX to HPUX upgrades, HP to HP, HPVM to HPVM. upgrade experience. Must be Recent!!
- Must have P2V experience.
- Experience working remotely on this, is a huge plus.
- Must have great communication skills.

- HP-UX Network and Systems Administration
- HP-UX Network and System Troubleshooting
- HP-UX Network/Internet Security
- HP-UX Ignite-UX
- HP/Service Guard
- HP-UX Administration CSA
- Logical Volume Management(LVM)
- npar/vpar/HPVM APA
- HP-UX Security tools & practices
- HP/Service Guard
- HP-UX Auto Port Aggregation (APA)
- HP-UX Advanced kernel configuration
- Advanced HP-UX patch management
- HP-UX Dynamic Root Disk
Responsibilities:
- With minimal supervision, lead large and complex projects within the HPUX/Linux platform group.
- Meet with Customers, look over their physical HPUX system, rip it apart, and figure out how you are going to move it to either a virtual HPUX container environment or HPVM.
- Develop and deliver architectural concepts for complex systems.
- Develop and implement new infrastructure technology standards in coordination with Enterprise Architecture.
- Provide for system continuity by developing backup and recovery processes and procedures to support recovery from hardware and application failures.
Maintain knowledge of the latest developments impacting the HPUX/Linux Platform environment and makes recommendations that will improve efficiency, throughput, capabilities, and/or capacity.
