SQL Developer
The SQL Developer will be responsible for developing complex, stored procedure based processes supporting ETL processes in a Data Warehousing environment, as well as creating reports in Reporting Services and other data related tasks. The developer will also rotate as an Operational DBA, but only during normal business hours, so DBA-type knowledge is required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and modify complex stored procedure based processes supporting ETL processes in a Data Warehousing environment.
Work with customers and/or analysts to define and/or review business requirements for new ETL processes and reports.
Design and develop ETL processes and reports that meet team standards and use consistent methodology and development approach. Perform comprehensive unit testing of all your work.
As part of the rotating DBA responsibility – take complete ownership of all processes running on the Database servers and respond to issues, as well as perform proactive performance tuning, data archiving, and identify any areas where we can optimize our processes and environment.
Create and maintain technical designs, data dictionaries, and systems operations documentation.
Requirements
• 8 years of SQL Server development up through SQL Server 2008.
• Proven understanding of SQL Server internals is required.
• Proven understanding of Data warehousing methodologies and practices is required.
• Working understanding of SSIS and DTS.
• 2 years of MS Reporting Services.
Bonus Skills
• Data Modeling Tools
• Visual Basic/VBScript
• ASP.NET, C#
• Excel (including VBA)
• Oracle
• Hyperion Essbase
• Agile software development (TDD, XP)
Personal Qualities and Attributes
