Job title: Exchange Architect

Location: Round Rock, TX

Length: 3+ month contract

 

MUST HAVE: Experience with Quest Migration Manager and enterprise level experience with Exchange Migrations and Upgrades.

 

PROJECT PURPOSE:

•          Assist in the assessment, planning and migration of Exchange mail services from PS.Net to internal Exchange infrastructure

•          The project will consolidate PS.Net Exchange organization and decommission the PS.Net Exchange infrastructure

 

SCOPE:

•          Assessment and creation of a migration strategy – mailboxes, conference rooms, and shared mailboxes

•          Migration of all Users/Shared Mailboxes and Conference Rooms

•          Will include BES and ActiveSync Devices

•          Communicate Outlook Web Access (OWA) URL change

•          Decommission Exchange servers

•          Synchronize public folders

•          Reconfigure SMTP Routing

 

OBJECTIVES:

•          Migration will be completed over a three month period

•          Decrease administration and operational costs

•          Decrease SMTP routing complexity

 

IN-SCOPE ACTIVITIES:

1.          Creation of Migration Strategy for users/shared mailboxes/conference rooms/voicemail mailboxes

2.         Migration of Users mailboxes for Source Exchange Organization to Target Exchange Organization

3.         Migration of Shared mailboxes from Source Exchange Organization to Target Exchange Organization

4.         Migration of Conference Rooms from Source Exchange Organization to Target Exchange Organization

5.         Documentation for users to reconfigure BES Device to new Target Exchange Organization mailbox

6.         Documentation for users to reconfigure ActiveSync Device to new Target Exchange Organization mailbox

7.         Documentation for users to access Target Exchange Organization mailbox through Outlook Web Access

8.         Synchronization of Public Folders from Source Exchange Organization to Target Organization

9.         Reconfiguration of SMTP mail routing from Source to Target Organization

10.        Create Migration strategy on re-pointing applications relaying SMTP email off PS.Net Exchange

 

OUT OF SCOPE ACTIVITIES:

1.          Public Folder to SharePoint Migration

2.         Workstation Deployment for PS.Net Users

3.         Manual reconfiguration of BES/ActiveSync devices for Target Exchange Organization operation

4.         Workstation Domain Migration from PS>Net Domain to Client Domain

 

KEY DELIVERABLES:

•          Project Plan with Defined Tasks and Milestones

•          BES/Active Sync device configuration documents

•          End User communication plans

•          Daily User Migration List

•          Project – Weekly status report
