PeopleSoft Support Specialist – North American Payroll
6 + Month Contract
McLean, VA
$60/hr MAX MAX MAX
Responsible for supporting PeopleSoft 9.1 North American Payroll. The ideal candidate must have extensive knowledge of PeopleSoft 9.1 North American Payroll from a technology and a product functionality standpoint, State and Federal taxation methodologies in PeopleSoft e.g. aggregate tax.
Experience with other modules including but not limited to Time & Labor, GL interface to Finance, Leave Accruals, Absence Management, ESS, MSS.
This person must have implementation experience with the North American Payroll and a deep understanding of the product functionality and technology.
Experience with Year End W2 Processing along with applying PeopleSoft tax updates throughout the year.
This position requires a resource with depth and breadth of IT skills and experience (10+ years). Maturity, professionalism, and top-notch communication skills are necessary. An autonomous, assertive, team-oriented approach will also be essential for success.

• Experience writing Business and/or Functional specifications
• Experience converting Business and/or Functional specifications into System Requirements
• Experience with PeopleSoft configurations especially NA Payroll 9.1
• Experience with deriving test data, preparing test cases, writing test scripts
• Experience with executing test cases and reporting defects
• Experience with requirements tracking and testing tools (for example, Quality Center)
• Experience with creating SQL queries using SQL developer or similar tools.
• Experience with Application Designer, People Tools
• Experience with creating PS queries using online PeopleSoft Application
• Excellent meeting facilitation skills including ability to identify relevant issues and manage them to resolution
• Act as a liaison between the business users and developers
• Highly organized and self-directed capabilities
• Possesses understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design
• Manages requirements throughout the Software Development Life Cycle
• Manage and update as-is and to-be business process flows and standardization
• Research and analyze technical solutions in partnership with development teams
• Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for total IT service delivery and customer satisfaction.
A successful fit for this role will be someone who is self-directing and is comfortable operating in ambiguous/white space; someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and can adapt quickly in a dynamic environment; a thinker as well as a performer; and someone who has previous experience in operations and technology projects.
Candidate should be diverse, encompassing all aspects of analysis, customer relationships, and strategic planning. The candidate will be involved with key aspects of technology interactions (for) with mid-to-senior level customers; ranging from speculation and strategy, detailed analysis and requirements gathering, to management of BSAs and quality controls for execution. Technology-savvy and versatility is a must; as a wide range of out-sourced solutions and vendor management will be required.
