Position: Application Architect

Duration: 9 months

Location: Augusta, Maine

 

KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 

(These are required to successfully perform the work assigned).

• Knowledge of current State Government technology systems, capabilities, and needs.
• Knowledge of State Government agencies, their missions, the nature of services they provide, and their strategic plans.
• Knowledge of industry technology standards, and trends.
• Knowledge of system design techniques.
• Knowledge of operating systems and related software components.
• Knowledge of systems development and documentation standards.
• Knowledge of higher level programming languages and enterprise class application development tools.
• Ability to conduct in-depth research and analysis.
• Ability to research and evaluate suitability of computer software and hardware products.
• Ability to diagnose and correct system malfunctions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to lead, to coordinate the activities of, and to provide technical support to project teams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Eight (8) years of systems programming and/or analysis experience. A Master's Degree in Computer Science or a directly related field may be substituted for one (1) year of systems programming or analysis experience

Essential Qualifications beyond the Core Job Description:

1) Demonstrated ability to design the infrastructure underlayment for enterprise-class apps

2) Demonstrated knowledge of existing cloud technologies & service options

Nice to Have:

1) Demonstrated ability to design enterprise-class Data Warehouse

2) Demonstrated ability to re-engineer existing apps due to refactored interfaces
