We have a need for a Performance Architect for a 3 month contract. The position is located in Boston, MA. We have sent this out before, but the candidates have fell short. They are looking for more of an Architect not an Engineer. Details are below:
Top 3:
1. experience working with java applications- understand the pitfalls and identify those areas
2. websphere application server environment- performance tuning
3. SILK- load test software, or another similar load test software tool.
Responsibilities:
-Tuning performance
-j2ee implementations/specification and application components that go with that.
-understand tuning performance for java applications
-understand containers with which applications run- for example, websphere application server is a container.
-monitor performance
-diagnostic experience
-understand how applications interact with network- there is a significant online piece and batch piece behind the scenes, making sure processing is efficient
- SHOULD have hands on development experience.
Client Description:
-websphere application server tuning
-mq series performance monitoring and tuning
-silk performer load tool and understanding the report diagnostics
-network performance (ideal, but might be a stretch)
-java batch application tuning
-application development profiling tools and diagnostics (identifying memory leaks, inefficient use of resources, etc.) ex. eclipse or RAD (rational application developer)- used for isolation of potential problems in a code.
