SQL BI Developer
Location: Irving,TX
Duration: 12+Months
This position is for a BI developer using SQL Server BI stack to support ongoing BAU projects and aid in migrating cube datasource from Oracle to Teradata.
CRITICAL SKILLS:
1. SQL Server Analysis Services 2005/2012
2. Teradata experience a must
3. Strong experience with MDX and SQL scripting
4. Performance enhancements of OLAP cubes, understand and design proper aggregations
5. Ability to handle huge databases
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Senior BI Developer (6+ years experience)
- 6 years of real development of multidimensional data warehouses with SQL Server Stack - SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) 2005/2008/2012, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) 2005/2008/2012, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server 2005/2008/2012
- Expertise in understanding relational data warehouse design is a big plus
- Experience designing cubes, optimizing for build efficiency, optimizing for query efficiency, working directly within the BIDS interface, and working with it programmatically
- Strong MDX querying skills and SQL querying skills, preferably in on Oracle 11g and Teradata.
- At least 5 years' experience with Teradata is a must.
- Expertise in multidimensional databases with demonstrated ability to create calculated members and very strong MDX scripting.
- Ability to work with huge OLAP databases with special emphasis on trouble-shooting performance issues.
- Understanding of, and experience in, data warehouse modeling including star-schema and snow-flake schema designs and dimensional and fact table modeling concepts.
- Experience in development and performance tuning related to large data volume
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (PL/SQL, T-SQL)
- .Net, C# , and SQL Server Reporting Services 2008
DESIRED SKILLS:
• Solid Communication Skills
• Team Player
• Experience with Executive Reporting – using various technologies for Dashboards/Scorecards, Excel Services, and Excel Pivot.
