Senior Microsoft BI Architect
Work Location:Bentonville, AR
Relevant Experience (Yrs) :10+ years
Technical/Functional Skills :Microsoft BI Architecture with Deep knowledge of Microsoft Systems Reporting Services, Analysis Services, Integration Services (SSIS, SSAS and SSRS)
•Strong SSAS & SSRS skills.
•Ability to define architecture solution for customers in data warehousing and data management techniques
•Key competencies should be in the area of data quality, data modeling, master data services, Kimball / Inmon / Data Vault approaches to data warehouse design
•Should know how to translate Business Requirements to Data Warehousing Requirements to Application and Technical Specifications
•Knowledge of server and storage architectures and associated concepts such as sequential I/O, HW SW balanced systems design, fiber channel, SAS storage etc.
•Strong transaction modeling skills and the ability to architecture enterprise scale databases
•Strong knowledge of architectures for high-availability and fault tolerance (e.g. clustering, Database Mirroring)
•Strong analytical skills and an ability to present and communicate data, trends, insights and recommendations
•Should have worked on entire lifecycles of two DW projects with one of them as architect
•Experience in performance tuning and rolling out DW solutions
•Should know how to evaluate tools from different vendors
•Must be able to conduct project reviews and play an active role in architecture governance
•Capable of creating and delivering pre-sales and proposals to Executive stakeholders
Experience Required8+ years of experience in Data Warehouse tools and technologies and end to end implementation of the BI projects
Roles & Responsibilities:•Analysis of functional specifications
•Preparing functional & technical design documents.
•Preparing User acceptance and Integration Testing Plan
•Design of critical dashboards like Associate Scorecard, Customer Service Scorecard.
•Providing strategic and technical direction to the team
•Customer interaction
•Change management, CR evaluation
•Review Deliverables
•Support Load testing and Performance improvement
•Monitoring environments – CPU utilization, memory utilization, concurrent usage and web sphere threads
•Capacity planning and configuration changes
Generic Managerial Skills:•Excellent communication and presentation skills. An independent thinker and self-starter; able to work effectively within a fast paced and changing environment
•Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
•Excellent time management, planning and organization skills
•Ability to lead teams
•Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and act with a sense of urgency
•Contribute individually with minimal supervision and as part of a team
Education :Bachelors / Masters in Engineering or MCA
