Role :Sr. Systems Engineer
Location: Irving, TX

Job Description
This individual will be providing technical expertise and guidance while supporting mission critical applications in a Windows environment. The candidate is expected to define hardware requirements and systems specifications required for installations, configurations, testing, and upgrades. The candidate is expected to develop documentation, departmental procedures, and support guides to improve existing processes and ensure that security and compliance requirements are met. In addition, the candidate is expected to resolve highly complex production problems and provide guidance to less experienced staff.
Requirements:
· Minimum of 7 years' experience with Microsoft Windows Server, especially versions 2003, and 2008R2 including server builds, migrations, and in-place upgrades.
· Minimum of 7 years' experience with core technologies including Active Directory, DNS, SMTP and SNMP.
· Experience with Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) especially versions 6 and 7.
· Experience with Windows Server Clusters.
· Experience supporting large server infrastructures in multiple remote data centers.
· Strong understanding of web application architecture including HTTP, SSL, caching, CDNs, TCP/IP and load-balancing.
· Experience with network and system monitoring tools.
· Experience with enterprise class storage solutions including SAN.
· Experience in building and operating VMware ESX clusters or other enterprise level virtualization solutions.
· Strong experience in the design, implementation, monitoring, and support of systems, including hardware, operating systems, and applications.
· Strong experience in resolving application errors and systems performance issues.
· Strong experience in performing code releases, security patches, and configuring production and lower environments.
· Strong experience in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Exchange 2003/2007/2010.
· Strong experience in the installation, configuration, and recoverability of SharePoint 2007/2010.
· Professional demeanor and be available 24x7 if needed.
Preferred Skills:
· Ability to utilize industry best practices to design and implement Windows based solutions in support of business objectives.
· Provide in-depth knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the field.
· Partner with project teams and technical groups to identify and define technical requirements.
· Create detailed documentation and diagrams of server infrastructure design and implementation.
· Respond to high priority and escalated trouble tickets and communicate status and resolution to management and customers.
· Conduct audits and implement solutions to ensure proper security of Windows based systems.
· Strong experience with Hitachi data systems SAN.
· Ability to manage project lifecycle from inception through implementation and operational support.
· Ability to interact with production, development, QA teams and external vendors to develop the best solutions for the business.
· Experience with Windows Server scripting tasks (batch, VBScript, PowerShell, etc.)
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
