AppUp Validation Team needs a seasoned Linux Software Developer to help implement a world-class automated validation platform for mobile apps.

 

Daily Responsibilities:

 

 The daily work in AppUp Validation Team spans the complete software lifecycle using Scrum process

 Daily responsibilities include design and development of software tools to validate applications against a set of established guidelines for a new Linux based OS

 Create and run unit tests

 Participate in code reviews

 Perform proofs of concepts and investigative software development

 Help with QA as needed

 

Necessary Skills (Must Have):

 

 Extensive software design and development experience in Linux (any mainstream distribution)

 5+ years experience in software development using Python on Linux

 5+ years experience in software development using C/C++ on Linux

 5+ years combined hands-on experience in the following:

o Networking in Linux (Socket Programming, Networking Protocols, etc)

o Shell Scripting

o Inter-process communication methods

o Multithreading

 5+ years experience in web software development using LAMP or other web technology stack

 HTML / HTML5, CSS, Javascript

 Some experience with system administration tools (native and 3rd party) in Linux

 Good understanding of Database concepts, with the ability to write simple to moderately complex SQL queries and SPROCs

 Sound understanding of OOP Principles and some knowledge of design patterns

 

Additional Skills Desired (Nice to Have):

 

 QA and/or Test automation experience is a HUGE plus

 Experience with Mobile Application Development is a big plus

 Any experience with Mobile Security is highly desirable

 Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM team

Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g. Amazon AWS, MS Azure, Google App Engine, etc)
