Job Title : Lead Oracle DBA.
Location : Wilmington,NC.
Duration : 6+ Months Contract.
Sure Shot Placement.
Rate:$55/hr on CTC.
Scope of Position:
Technical leader and expert in operational support using the Oracle DB environment
LONG TERM* Degree Required
Responsibilities:
Design and build robust, scalable, fault tolerant Oracle database environments for high availability.
Installation, configuration, and upgrade of Oracle server software and related products
Migration of Oracle Databases from Windows to Linux
Perform database tuning and performance monitoring
Perform daily database maintenance tasks
Work as part of a team, and provide 24x7 support when required
Perform general technical trouble shooting
Work closely with developers, refreshing test environments, migrating changes to production
Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support assistance
Patch management
Participate in quarterly outages, patching servers
Participate in year-end shutdown activities, patching and rebuilding databases
Manage capacity plans for Oracle database environments.
Required Experience:
8-10 years relevant work experience in IT – in a large enterprise environment
Relevant work experience in a corporate technical customer service environment
Formally trained and/or certification in Oracle Databases
Experience in Oracle 9i,10g, 11g Windows and Linux environments
Good understanding of Oracle database, related utilities and tools including (RMAN, Dataguard, Grid Control, ASM)
Good knowledge of physical database design
Ability to perform both Oracle and Operating System performance tuning and monitoring
OLTP experience in a Manufacturing environment
Desired Experience:
Worked for some period of time and demonstrated consistency in work; counted on to work with minimal supervision with quality and not rework and can manage parts of projects and are technologically competent
Knowledge of Industry best practices in Business Intelligence platforms, Oracle 9i/10g/11g, MS Office Suite, Windows Desktop / Server proficiency
Global experience preferred but not essential
SQLServer Experience
Experience with OEM 12c
Education:
BS in Computer Science / Systems Management / IT Related field
Soft Skills (Communication/Team/Leadership)
Technical curiosity and interest in technology
Self-starter and takes ownership for deliverables and deadlines
Team player
Good written and verbal communication skills
