REQUIRED SKILLS:

• 8+ years experience in Database Administration
• Strong experience with Oracle RDBMS
• Strong experience with SQL RDBMS
• Experience upgrading SQL Server 2005 to SQL  Server 2008 -Experience upgrading Oracle 10g to 11i -Oracle 10g -SQL Server 2008 -MySQL, DB2, SQL Server
• Strong consulting and client skills required -Strong communication (verbal and written), and teaming skills -Experience working with blended on and offshore teams
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This client has seen tremendous growth and consequently needs to completely revamp their databases.
• They have over 550 Oracle databases which need to be monitored, managed and administered in a consistent way.
• The ultimate project goal is to complete the creation of a stable database domain for the client.
• Monitoring and Backup/Recovery are the first aspect of the project.
• Follow stated project control office protocols including those of status and time reporting vacation request and scheduling (i.e. weekly status report, task sheet).
• Willing to identify and contribute reusable assets.
• Recognize and escalate issues within the team.
