Technical/Functional Skills : Possess good working knowledge of Airline domain and Global Distribution System (GDS Like Sabre, Amedeus,Travelport)), SOA Architecture.
Sr. Solutions Architect will be able provide technical leadership for formulating, evaluating, and implementing IT solutions for air transportation industry that appropriately represent business vision and requirements.
Experience Required 15-20 years
Roles & Responsibilities : This role will be responsible for,
• Provide comprehensive architectural support to business unit and IT staff at the highest technical level for all aspects to ensure proposed solution is technically viable.
• Define and/or validate logical and physical architecture for a proposed solution, applying all relevant enterprise and industry standards.
• Work closely with software engineering and technical operations departments ensure successful rollout of the solution.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to insure business vision and requirements are addressed correctly.
• Analyze complex functional and non-functional requirements and make appropriate design adjustments.
• Carry out performance analysis of existing and proposed solutions against difficult-to-achieve performance requirements.
• Interact with vendors, as required, to provide necessary oversight to software implementation and product rollout processes.
• Evaluate 3rd party products and components and provide results, including, but not limited to: quality, performance, and integration methodology.
• Provide guidance to software development group on activities in SDLC, including service-oriented and object-oriented analysis and design.
• Define and support software architecture models.
• Effectively communicate design concepts to both technical and non-technical communities.
Generic Managerial Skills :
• Required) Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• (Required) 8+ years of experience in software development and design
• (Required) 5+ years of experience in software architecture role
• (Required) Experience applying Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) to real-world solutions
• (Required) Working knowledge of Web Services, WS-* standards and relevant communications protocols, including SOAP, HTTP, and JMS
• (Required) Strong working knowledge of Java or C++ languages, or both
• (Required) Strong written and verbal communication skills
• (Desired) Experience with IBM middleware (Websphere line)
• (Desired) Experience with z/OS, TPF, z/TPF or other mainframe systems
• (Desired) Understanding and working knowledge of relational, object and other databases and data access protocols
• (Desired) Experience with software architecture modeling and with one or more relevant modeling languages, such as UML
• (Desired) Working knowledge of principles of design and development of web-based systems – web servers, session management, etc.
• (Desired) Experience designing systems for high-performance: high throughput, high-availability, low latency, etc.
