SR QA ENGINEER

Responsibilities

 

Design and create test strategies

Develop manual and automated test scripts based on test cases using industry-standard test tools

Create test plans, data, and test procedures within an existing QA team

Participate in reviews of business specifications and related documentation

Participate in reviews of user interface; assess the usability of assigned subsystems

Execute manual and automated test scripts

Generate automated defects, metrics, and reports

     

Required Skills

 

Strong QA background with experience in QA practices and methodologies.

Strong Oracle DB experience is required

PL/SQL scripting experience required

UNIX experience required

Experience working with a Web service technology is a strong plus

Scripting experience required: UNIX Shell, Perl.

Experience with Quality Center or similar Test Case management system

Good oral and written communication skills.

Strong experience with quality assurance methods and practices

Experience with software development life cycle

Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively with business and systems personnel

Strong oral and written communications and analytical skills

Experience with Microsoft Office tools — including Word, Excel and Access — is  a plus

Bachelor's degree

    

Desired Skills Sets

 

Informatics knowledge and experience is desired (other ETL experience is a plus).

Experience with back-end batch process testing.

Experience with database test automation beneficial.

Brokerage, bank, and/or financial services industry experience a plus

Project coordination experience a plus

Programming language exposure: C, Visual Basic and/or Java a plus.

Strong SQL skills (Oracle)

ETL testing experience desired

Data Warehouse testing experience (OBIEE preferred)

Familiarity with Insurance and Annuity products

Basic UNIX skills

QC10 proficiency
