Required skills include
• Strong Java SE skills
• Ability to conceptualize, design and construct Java classes using best practices, including best practices with regard to inheritance and interfaces
• Ability to work with existing design patterns and classes, adding new capabilities as needed
• Experience with JDBC calls, including prepared statements and resolution of database interface errors
Strongly desired skills include
• Experience with Eclipse
• Experience with XML, XML schema and SAX parsing using Java
• Experience using iText with Java classes to build PDF documents
• Experience coding Servlets
• Experience with HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
• Experience developing SQL statements including select, insert, update and delete against tables and views
• Familiarity with COBOL copybooks and programs
• Familiarity with the SWT and development of desktop applications based on the Eclipse framework
