 iSeries / AS/400 Consultant x 2

Duration:  6 – month Contract to hire 

Costa Mesa, CA

 

Systems Management Consultant – Senior

IBM iSeries

Typical Day:

 

•          Manage DASD Usage and conduct audits.

•          Manage daily, weekly, and Monthly back processes.

•          Assist with Robot administration.

•          Knowledge of RPG, JAVA, MQ, CL

•          Troubleshooting of jobs, processes, and system issues.

•          Manage the Performance of the systems.

•          Control the work flow on the systems through job queues, subsystems, and output queues.

•          Knowledge of HTTP and Web Sphere application setup.

•          Conduct Role Swaps.

•          System Software and Hardware upgrades

•          Timely completion of all assigned HPSM / ITG tickets.

•          Application and process support for a variety of Business units, including, but not limited to, Development, Accounting, Claims Administration, Pharmacy Network, Data warehouse, PMO's, Client Management, Business Support Services, and Operations.  

•          Gathering and delivering audit required data and proofs as needed.

•          Participate in a variety of daily and weekly meetings with the Business, Operations, Client Management, and our primary vendor SXC.  

•          Documentation of all systems processes with primary job scheduler.

•          Scheduling and monitoring of objects from development to production platforms.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree required
• 5+ years of System Management working in iSeries or AS400 environments
• 5+ years of experience working hands-on with all aspects of the system management (iSeries or AS400)
• 5+ years of experience performing system tuning, performance data gathering, conducting analysis and writing system related requirements
• 5 + years of experience working with MIMIX.

Soft skills:

 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work with all levels of the organization
• Self-starter, ability to work with minimal supervision, team player.
