Essential Functions:
This position will be responsible for the development of detailed test plans/test matrices/test scripts including regression testing, the execution of test cases, the recording/tracking of defects associated to design and development, coordinate/conduct user training, obtain user signoffs, act as a liaison between IT and the Business Units, lead test specialists (as needed), and serve as a subject matter expert to a given project, while working within a Structured Development Life Cycle (SDLC) or Scrum
Methodology.
· Participate in conducting necessary reviews and walkthroughs. Interpreting business processes/rules working with the business area(s) to translate them into test cases (scenarios) in order to build a detailed test plan/test matrix/test script.
· Work with project leaders/managers to identify risk(s) related to requirements that may directly affect the completion of testing and or project deliverables.
· Develop a structured test methodology and/or testing approach for a given project/issue.
· Estimate the amount of testing effort necessary to complete a given project/issue.
· Create/Participate in the planning effort necessary to produce a detailed Test Plan/Test Matrix that can be reviewed and approved by the project team/business owner(s).
· Ensure tests that are developed are repeatable, as well as traceable to the requirements.
· Execute test cases as defined by a given Test Matrix/Issue in order to validate business requirements are met or an issue has been corrected.
· Establish and clearly communicate risk assessments and determine to what level of detail is necessary to adequately validate a project/modification/enhancement clearly meets its predetermined requirement(s).
· Coach, mentor, and lead test specialists (as needed) in the implementation of testing activities throughout a given project, as well as helping them grow in their role as test analyst. Review test input/output and makes recommendations on test environments and test bed configurations that are required during the test execution phase, and remove any obstacles that may be presented.
· Document and track defects as they are found till closure.
· Continuously look for and suggest process improvements to ensure a quality product is tested.
