This position's main responsibility will be in supporting development for MDOT's Small/New Technology Projects (SNTP).

 

Complete Description:

This position's main responsibility will be in supporting MDOT SNTP.  This includes, but is not limited to, working with the project manager, application owner and resource manager to define a list of requirements; working on an agile development team to organize work, develop, test and deploy code; attend status and progress meetings with the project manager, application owner, business sponsor, and resource manager.

 

Software Engineer capabilities with 10 or more years of experience, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performs a variety of complicated tasks, may lead and direct the work of others, may report directly to a project lead or manager, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

 

Skill:     

Experience programming in the JBOSS Enterprise SOA environment including JBOSS Workflow and Drools Business Rules engine. Required 4 Years

Experience developing complex computer systems using JAVA.  Required 10 Years

Experience developing complex computer systems using java IDEs such as Eclipse.  Required 10 Years

Experience programming in SQL and/or PL/SQL. Required 7 Years

Experience programming in projects using Spring and Struts framework. Required 7 Years

Experience programming in projects using Hibernate/JPA framework. Required 7 Years

Experience participating as a programmer/analyst in projects using CMM/CMMI Level 3 methods and practices. Required 5 Years

Experience developing adhoc reports using Business Objects Designer Required 1 Years

Data Warehouse Developer/ Analyst 
Location: West Chester, PA
Duration: 6 - 12 months

Must have excellent communication and customer interfacing skills.

Must have strong experience with Teradata, BTEQ, UC4, Data Analysis and ETL.

Responsible for gathering and assessing business information needs and preparing system requirements. 
Performs analyses, development and evaluation of data mining in a data warehouse environment which includes data design, database architecture, metadata and repository creation. Uses data mining and data analysis tools. 
Reviews and validates data loaded into the data warehouse for accuracy. Interacts with user community to produce reporting requirements. 
Provides technical consulting to users of the various data warehouses and advises users on conflicts and inappropriate data usage.
Responsible for prototyping solutions, preparing test scripts, and conducting tests and for data replication, extraction, loading, cleansing, and data modeling for data warehouses.
Maintains knowledge of software tools, languages, scripts, and shells that effectively support the data warehouse environment in different operating system environments. Possesses working knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and data warehouse front-end tools. 
Must have an extensive knowledge of data warehouse and data mart concepts. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. Typically has at least 5 years of IT work experience in business intelligence tools and systems.
